Deeper integration of ArcGIS Server into Windows Event Viewer
If more ArcGIS Server (incl. ArcSDE) log information would be available in Windows Event Viewer, it would be possible to manage events centrally and create tasks like: On event create admin email
Provide IT standard monitoring interfaces
To monitor ArcGIS Server in a central IT infrastructure it would be great to be able to use one central IT monitoring application. To be able to do this ArcGIS Server would need standard monitoring interfaces like SNMP or WMI.
The drawback here is that with AGS/Portal being principally Java-Servlets you will find these are not easily able to write to the Windows Event Log. Short of that; it would be good to have a better logging mechanism that will support viewing the logs for Server and Portal outside of the Web-Interface which isn't very flexible for searching.
Hi @MarkusHoffmann,
This is a very old idea, but it was placed in the ArcGIS Monitor Ideas forum, so I will comment on this item.

This is the main objective of ArcGIS Monitor - the product designed to monitor the system health of ArcGIS Enterprise (which includes ArcGIS Server).
Hi @DEWright_CA,

We're working on enabling better log reporting for both enterprise portals and GIS servers in ArcGIS Monitor. Please let us know if you have specific needs, or if Monitor is missing something.
Hope this helps,
