ArcGIS Pro 2.5: How to publish to ArcGIS Online from Pro?
In ArcMap, we can publish to ArcGIS Online using the option “my hosted services” as shown in the screenshot below. Is there an equivalent tool for that in Pro?
ArcGIS Pro is connected to your arcgis online or Portal account, whichever portal you are signed in as. If you are logged into arcgis online, you will share to your hosted feature services. You can find the details on publishing here:
Introduction to sharing web layers—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
My issue here is that I couldn’t figure out where is the command that enable to publishing on ArcGIS Online from the Pro as it is used to be in ArcMap. Where could be the tool? How to share from Pro on ArcGIS Online?
To add to Clay's response, you can see what username you're logged in as, and the active portal (and manage and switch portals) from the control in the upper-right:
There are many sharing options built in throughout the application, and yes, this is different than ArcMap.
When you want to publish or share something to ArcGIS Online, you would go to the Share tab:
Or right-click the layer that you want to share:
If your purpose is to ask a "how to" question, please post that in the ArcGIS Pro space as a question. If you have an idea to post, those can come here to the Ideas site.
Hope this helps.
Thank you Kory for the very useful input and screenshots.
Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes, I can’t judge myself if what I’m asking for is a question or an idea due to the fact that I got confused regarding whether some tools are available in Pro.
However, as I witched to ArcGIS Online, I got the errors shown in the screenshots below as I published the map with the “web map” tool
What could be the issue here?
The best tool to publish on ArcGIS Online is “publish web layer”. No need to login to the ArcGIS Online site while working in Pro! Signing in with Pro is sufficient
