Release it for Android...well over a year overdue... Far from everyone has Apple phones/devices!
Hi Brett Sanders. Could you please add an appropriate Category and tags? What product are you referring to when requesting it be released on Android?
This was on a site for Collector comments...so Collector (Aurora).for Android. Collector "classic" does not even come close to do the job for functionality and ease of use for most field collection tasks. Original release date was over a year ago. Still nothing for Android. Apple has been singled out and release on time or close, but our City does not have all IOS devices...not even close. As a matter of fact, we have more Android phones (and even worse a prospect as it's release may be 2 years out at this rate as coding will not start on Windows until after release of Android)...Microsoft surfaces for virtually all field collection currently in place for other reasons (fire and Code inspections for example) than GIS collection. I know I'm not the only one in this predicament.Collector #Aurora
Hi Brett -- There is a beta available on Android now. To get access to it, please join our Collector Early Adopter community so you’ll have the latest information on what you can test as well as provide feedback. Once you’ve joined, visit Getting Started to access the beta release for Android.
We are targetting Q1 2020 for this release. There is some talk about that release at the end of this blog post on the last iOS release: What’s New in Collector for ArcGIS (January 2020)
I am on the Collector Early Adopter and have been since Beta1, but latest Beta (3 I believe) still is lacking even connectivity to Trimble GPS units…
Cary (Brett) Sanders
Glad to hear you are already involved! The latest is Beta 5, so I'd recommend making sure you have the latest. We are still working on improving the support for Trimble receivers, but they are supported in Beta 5. And please continue to share your feedback on the beta in the Collector Early Adopter community.
