Editing of features in GeoPackage (and Spatialite)
Dare to dream, but I will be dreaming right there with you....
Esri claims ArcGIS / ArcGIS Pro to be compliant with official the OGC GeoPackage standards http://www.geopackage.org/implementations.html#Esri and there's an official statement of Esri that they have a "long-standing commitment to standards and interoperability" https://www.esri.com/software/open/open-standards .
This all contrasts very much with the current lack of support of GeoPackage. GeoPackage should be
a 1st class citizen format!
It should be treated in ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro similar to Shapefile: editable, a "Feature Class to GeoPackage" toolset (http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/conversion-toolbox/an-overview-of-the-to-geopackage-toolset.htm ) etc.
Now this idea got quite some backup. So I'd like to ask the moderator and Esri: What are the next steps to be expected from you?
I see this is now in the roadmap - hopefully it is addressed sooner rather than later because the performance increases made available by transportable SQLite databases is huge. These formats are industry standard outside ESRI because of the better portability and speed increases they offer over GDB, and SHP.
