When creating cached map services for a basemap in png format, the background colour appears to be grey in AGOL and not white like in ArcMap due to the background colour of the ArcGIS Online website.
The abiltiy to chaned this background colour to white (or any other colour) would prevent the need for the basemap to be created in JPEG format, which is lower quality, takes longer to cache and takes up more space.
