One of the things we've wanted to do for years is replace the "pen" when creating new features, with live input of x,y,z coordinates from a bluetooth enabled Total Station. I'd settle for some samples code.

Yes! A variety of laser range finders have been supported for years. It can't be too different to deal with coordinates from a total station. This would be really valuable for field sciences like archaeology and geology.
