It would be nice if it is possible to sort files in "Add data" file dialog by date, size ...
This is incredibly frustrating. A lot of my data management worklfow is looking at things like size, date created, or date modified. This is the first Windows program, if I can recall correctly, that doesn't let you sort on file attributes in the UI. It's almost as if the developer took extra steps to remove this functionality....remembering how the old Active X grid control worked in VB.....you couldn't turn it off!
This has been missing in ArcMap for years and I can't believe they did the same thing to Pro! We NEED to see the details of files that we will be adding to our projects.
This is implemented in ArcGIS Pro 2.2:

Kory Kramer something is amiss, is there a new setting in 2.2 to turn on the date column? Not seeing the date column in 3 different installs: 2 an upgrade, 1 a fresh install.
Just curious if you are working with a Windows 7 or Windows 10 operating system where Pro is installed?
I have Windows 10 and the date field is available to me to be sorted on.
Some additional information as I was able to successfully perform a fresh install on 1 Windows 10 computer and then perform a successful upgrade install on another Windows 10 computer.
For the Windows 10 computer with a fresh install no dialog boxes popped up during the install process once I passed the dialog box for the install location.
For the Windows 10 computer with an upgrade install a dialog box with a warning popped up twice during the install process once I passed the dialog box for the install location. The warning was as follows:
"The setup must update files or services that cannot be updated while the system is running. If you choose to continue, a reboot will be required to complete the setup."
Now the computer did not auto-reboot and I was able to open a Pro project and sort on date in the Add Data dialog box.
Did you get a warning popup message like this when you performed your upgrade installs? I really don't understand why I received this popup on an upgrade install but not on a fresh install.
I'm not seeing the date column in 2.2 on 7 & 10, nor have I seen the warning you describe....
Kory Kramer it doesn't appear you can sort on size, nor is a size column apparent? What am I missing in reading that this is implemented? Do I need to go into project options to enable the size column? (FWIW unable to find that setting..).
Thomas Colson We marked this as implemented because it is possible to sort items based on their properties. Now, what still needs to be done is add more properties, size being one of those. I'm pretty sure this is on the dev team's to-do list but I'll make sure this conversation is linked into that issue. Thanks!
