Allow surveys to be updated without creating a new records for each update. I believe it worked this way a few weeks ago but now when you add an update to an existing survey a warning screen comes up and says that it will be stored as a new survey. We are adding in water main breaks and want the crews to be able to update the status of the record and not create a new one. The new record does not even have a parentid to track which survey it was originally from so you would have to rely on several fields to to an update to a single feature on another layer as a work around. We want to update the existing survey not create new ones. It doesn't make sense to me because If I wanted a new survey I would have just used "collect" in the step before instead of updating the sent ones
Hello Melanie,
Thank you for submitting this idea. Could you expand on the workflow your field workers are using with Survey123 for ArcGIS? Are they initially collecting new features with Survey123, but they want to update those features as work is completed? Or are they updating existing asset features as work is being competed? Is it possible to use Collector for ArcGIS to complete the work they will be doing in the field, or was Survey123 chosen for a particular reason?
Any expansion on your use case will help us better understand this request and how you are using Survey123.
Thanks,
Scott
