A Workshop on Bathymetric Data Processing was held at the German Hydrographic Office (BSH) in Hamburg from April 9th trough 11th 2019.

It was attended by 11 national hydrographic offices from the Baltic and North Sea regions, one regional center for ENCs (RENC), the Chair of the IHO ENC Working Group, and 4 industries.

The purpose was to discuss the increasing requirement to produce and provide high density bathymetry for nautical charts and other purposes, identify common issues and propose common solutions. During these two and a half days, Esri’s Maritime experts supported by Esri Germany presented the latest automated workflows for contouring and sounding selection in ArcGIS Pro, moderated and discussed common pain points with participants and came up with some conclusions at the end that will be reported to the International Hydrographic Organization as recommendations for all member states consideration.
