The User Experience (UX) & User Interface (UI) Hub, in the 2016 Esri User Conference (Esri UC) Exhibit Pavilion, is your go-to destination for all things related to user experience, user interface/visual design, icon design, interaction design, information architecture, and usability research. This will be the fifth year we'll be hosting UX & UI related activities at Esri UC, and we are excited to offer various activities throughout the week:

  • UX & UI Hub in the Exhibit Pavilion Tuesday through Thursday
  • UX & UI Exchange at the Marriott on Wednesday
  • Interactive Research Lab

 

At the UX & UI Hub, discover how a people-first approach can benefit mapping applications and location-enabled apps. Fifteen-minute Lightning Talks, 30-minute presentations, peer reviews, and hands-on workshops will be offered at various times throughout the week for attendees of all levels and disciplines.

Making great maps has always been possible. With rapid advances in technology, the threshold to making a map is lowered and more people make maps—both good and bad. And while defaults improve, thinking about design is as important now as it has ever been. This presentation will focus on the marriage of tools, techniques, and thinking to produce high-quality maps using ArcGIS. It will encourage people to not only pick up the latest technology but also make it work beyond the defaults and support the process of getting their ideas into action with beautiful maps that deliver both form and function.
