Here is an assessment I put together for my Earth Science class. It is a culminating assessment. Students have done these activities on other assignments.
I used your lesson with my 6th-grade Earth System Science students last week.. They had several opportunities to learn some of the features of ArcGIS Online via Lessons I have written and Geoinquiries prior to working through your lesson.
Your lesson taught them about the USGS site, how to download data and add a file to their map. I see student competence increase.
