Convert Workspace
This tool converts a pre-7.0 ArcInfo Workspace to Arc 7.x file naming so the data can be accessed in ArcGIS Desktop and Pro
ArcInfo workskpaces created with versions 6.1 and earlier cannot be read by ArcGIS 10.x and later.
File naming changes were imposed at that time to support "8.3" file naming to make the datasets easier to access under the Windows OS and ISO 9660 standards. These workspaces can be idenified by the fact that their info folder contains a file "arcdr9" instead of "arc.dir" found in 7.0 and later workspaces.
This tool is packaged as a Python toolbox. (Requires ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 or later. A 10.0 version is here.
