March 23rd Updates

  1. The JHU Dashboard has been updated to include the county level data. See the announcement here - https://releases.jhu.edu/2020/03/23/advisory-johns-hopkins-university-upgrades-covid-19-tracking-map-with-local-u-s-data/ and here - https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/product/public-safety/coronavirus-covid-19-data-available-...
    1. There is a new feature service for the county level data here – https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=628578697fb24d8ea4c32fa0c5ae1843&view=table#overview
      1. Note that they only have Confirmed and Deaths. They are no longer updating the Active and Recovered fields
    2. They are interested in working with states who are providing county case data as a feature service so they can source from the states directly so the numbers are consistent.
  2. Many of you have commented on the bed utilization rate from the Definitive Health Care data set. It is not real time but it is dynamic, we are trying to get clarity from the vendor on the update frequency on this and hoping they will add a field for last update. I believe some of the hospitals utilization data was updated today.
    1. Also note that they added in fields for city, state, zip etc so you can filter by geography
  3. HIFLD secure data access “have been released to Local, Tribal, and Territorial users with COVID-19 operational needs.”.
  4. We are hearing of two additional priority layers from the US Government that they would like to source as a national layer. Specifically individual hospital status as well as testing sites / facilities. If your state has this as feature service / app, public or private, let us know. There are specific fields they are looking for.
  5. Here is information on Walmart Store Status if it helps. We’ll keep you posted as we find more
    1. Store Status Dashboard https://walmarttech.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/9b4afe6af6e94c5db4b5c9fd1a070155
