By default, all ArcGIS Online users signed in with an ArcGIS organizational account have access to Map Viewer Beta. This allows you to test the beta using your existing workflows and data. Web maps you create using Map Viewer Beta will not be beta. You can confidently use the web maps you create in Map Viewer beta throughout the platform, such as in ArcGIS Configurable Apps, the existing (classic) Map Viewer, custom apps, and more.

Organizations that would prefer that their members not use the beta in their primary workflows can hide the main Map Viewer Beta access points in the web site. Here's how:

  1. Verify that you are signed in as a default administrator or custom role with administrative privileges to manage the organization website.
  2. At the top of the site, click Organization and click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Map on the side of the page.
  4. For Map Viewer Beta, turn off the Enable Map Viewer Beta for organization members toggle button.

Once you turn off this toggle button, the option to open maps and layers in Map Viewer Beta will not be available from the Open actions in the site, such as in the content page, item pages, and when members first launch Map Viewer.
