First Three Actions in GeoNet:

We know navigating a new space can be both exciting and a bit confusing sometimes. We've created this quick list of three things to do in the community as a new member to get going on the right foot and stay in the know on what's going on in the community most relevant to you.

1. Complete Your Profile.

  • Tell the full story of you. Your community profile is an easy way to for people to quickly learn more about you. Add information about your work and interests to tell others your story.
  • Put a face to your name. Upload a profile picture to begin building connections online and offline. Using a picture of yourself will help others recognize you in the community - and even offline at in-person events. It's always great to see someone that you've been collaborating with online for the first time.
  • Share your skills and expertise. We've all had different experiences that we can bring to others in the community. Add your skills and expertise to your profile to communicate what you're great at to other members. It will help you build connections and learn about new relevant people, places and content.

 2. Find and Follow Your Interests.

Find the place(s) important to you. Browse the Products, Industries, and Developers groups/spaces and find and follow the ones most relevant to you and your role. This will help you stay informed on new activity, including updates, resources and questions.

3. Introduce Yourself

Say hello to the community and introduce yourself by sharing a little of your background on this thread. Help others connect with you by sharing which ESRI products you use, for what goals, and for how long. Feel free to use this as an opportunity to get a little guidance as well. Let others know if you need suggestions about which places to follow or resources to review.

We’re excited to have you join us and we hope you enjoy your experience in the GeoNet Community. We look forward to seeing your contributions!
