Using messages limits your audience to only those members of the community you want to communicate with specifically. Messages show up in the Inbox of only the members included in the message.  Messages reside in the Inbox and cannot be moved, but you can hide future activity from a message if you no longer wish to be part of the chain when sent to multiple members.

Note: While sending messages is a useful feature, nearly all topics in your community can be useful to others, so keep things public and work out loud whenever possible.

To send a message:

  1. When viewing a member's profile, you can click on the Actions drop-down menu on the right side of the profile and click Send direct message.

    • You can search for a member and  send a message from the search query.
