We are wrapping up the month of May with a fresh new look to GeoNet's home page and want to "Thank You" for all the feedback and contributions that helped guide the GeoNet UX in this new direction. So, what has changed?

You may have noticed over the last week that GeoNet no longer has the floating GIF in the header. It has a people-focused Esri look.

GeoNet banner

The GeoNet navigation has been cleaned up to provide a simpler experience to find newsfeed, content, and communities.

GeoNet navigation

The new look is cleaner with less scrolling to see the latest activity, ideas, and top collaborators. You can also easily find Community featured content that will be updated weekly.

The GeoNet Resource Hub connects to the GeoNet Tools and Resources and when you visit the Product, Industry and Developer communities overview, you will see a simplified design to make finding the right community easier.

Updated The search option was also removed from the home page, however, it is still available on spaces in the form of the search or "Ask". We encourage GeoNet Members to use the GeoNet: Spotlight Search to find all content within GeoNet. You can also read more about using the search feature on Finding Your Content in GeoNet or Finding, Searching, and Browsing Content.

Additional changes to GeoNet will take place over the next few months as the GeoNet team works to improve your experience. Continue to share your feedback and ideas. Your feedback is valuable and appreciated.

Effective May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a regulation approved and adopted by the European Union (EU), will replace the current Data Protection Directive 94/46/EC and is designed to protect the privacy of personal data for persons within the European Union. The new regulation will be strictly enforced for all websites, communities and social media sites that process user data in the context of goods and services to persons within the EU.

Esri is committed to GDPR readiness and has made a number of changes to various systems to comply.  GeoNet, in partnership with our platform host, is updating the Community and our GeoNet Terms of Use to include required changes enforced by the GDPR. GeoNet News and Tips BlogWe are excited to introduce a series of new GeoNet Community content! On this blog post, we want to share an overview of the new content and what you can expect. Over the next few weeks, we will begin sharing Weekly How-To Tips and Community News (Monday), a general GIS GeoNet weekly discussion (Wednesday) and GeoNet member success stories (Friday). All the content will be primarily posted in the GeoNet Resource Hub and featured under the News & Tips

This week, and today, we are introducing the Monday content below which includes the first in a series of How-to tips and curated community content that is new, top or trending.

A couple quick notes about the Monday content:
