GeoNet Staff Picks of the Week
Recently, we have had several reports that GeoNet is experiencing a “bug” when our members use the word in comments and replies. Linking to ArcGIS or posting the word within a comment/reply in GeoNet will result in an omission of the word from the content, URL, or HTML once it is posted. As an exception to the bug, when “@mentioning” the ArcGIS Online space this issue does not occur.
Joseph Kerski shares a new theme added to the Urban Observatory that will be useful in teaching geography, geology, and environmental science. The theme allows users to compare bioclimate, landform type, lithology, and land cover for any city.
David Watkins clarifies plans to support the ArcMap geodatabase replication workflows in ArcGIS Pro expressing, “The need to access authoritative GIS data from anywhere at any time is more important than ever.”
An uploaded file in GeoNet is used the same way as a collaborative document. When you want to collaborate on a file, you can upload it to the GeoNet Community and allow others to assist with the file. Files can also be attached to other GeoNet content types.
Keep in mind not all collaborators have the same permissions, software or operating systems and may not be able to open an uploaded or attached file. Files must not be larger than 50 MB and can be a Microsoft Office file (ppt, doc, xls) or PDF.
