2018

You may have noticed over the past few months we have been making incremental changes and improvements to the GeoNet Community. Introducing our newest improvement, the GeoNet Resource Hub (previously known as GeoNet Help).

We have reorganized and re-designed the space including the following enhancements:

  • A more welcoming experience for new members and easier navigation
  • Welcome video from Founder and CEO - Jack Dangermond
  • Links to What is GeoNet, Guiding Principles, “Introduce Yourself” thread, and member testimonials
  • Tools & Resources section for new and seasoned members including beginner and advanced how-to guides and an “Ask” and “Answered Questions” section.

Note about the “Ask and Answered Question” section: Prior to the space redesign, members incorrectly used the Help space to ask Esri product questions instead of GeoNet how-to questions. As part of our ongoing clean-up and moderation, we will be moving any previous and future Esri product questions to the correct product or service space. Going forward please first search for the correct product space before posting product questions and only post your GeoNet how-to questions in GeoNet Resource Hub.

We hope you like our new design and find it cleaner and easier to navigate. Stay tuned for more changes coming to GeoNet over the next few months.

As always if you have any questions, please contact us by commenting here or send us an email at geonet@esri.com.  Thank you!

As part of our ongoing mission to improve the GeoNet Community experience, the GeoNet team is updating the place (spaces and groups) request process as of Feb 2, 2018. Here are some important details to review:

  • All new requests will be submitted through the New Place Request Hub
  • The GeoNet team will review each request and determine if it should be a space or group. We will then build the new place and provide training to the place admins/owners.
  • To learn more about the process please visit the New Place Request Hub

Additionally, we have created a  Place Owner (admin) Resource Hub. This private group provides helpful tools and resources to help you successfully manage your group or space on GeoNet. All future and present space and group owners will be invited to join.

Thank you and let us know if you have any questions.
