Within ArcGIS Hub, we’ve streamlined the Gallery card by consolidating it with the Events card. Moving forward, both will now live under a single component: the Gallery card.

Quick Summary:  Your site visitors will experience no visible changes when viewing a Gallery card. Everything should look and function the same — but behind the scenes, we’ve made some meaningful improvements to simplify and extend card management.

What’s New

Unified gallery card

  • The Events card has been merged with the Gallery card for a smoother creation and editing experience.
  • All the familiar features and functionality remain available, now under one simplified “Gallery” option.
  • We are planning to consolidate the people and groups cards in a similar manner at a future date. Stay tuned!

No more max display limit

  • The Gallery card is no longer capped at displaying 16 results.
  • If no limit is configured, then results will display as a paginated list of 10 results at a time.
  • If you'd like to display all results at once, then simply configure a display limit (maximum of 100).

Enhanced search and filtering

  • You now have access to expanded and dynamic filtering with additional filter options that each have more selection options available.

  • These enhancements give you more granular control over the content that appears in your Gallery card.
  • Manual selection will migrate as you currently have it set up and now easily allows up to 100 cards.

Why this matters

This update keeps your Hub sites and pages looking and functioning the same on the surface but makes card management simpler, faster, and more scalable behind the scenes. You’ll spend less time managing card types and more time showcasing your content.

Thanks for reading and check out the new Gallery card today!

If you are a data editor or manager in ArcGIS Hub, a new capability allows you to display a layer's customized style so that viewers can more easily understand the data they're exploring.

Valuable time and resources go towards collecting, maintaining, and sharing data. Now you can share your authoritative data in a way that gives you more control over which data are displayed, which features or attributes are highlighted, and whether symbology is accessible to all. Custom styling is particularly relevant to larger or complex datasets, as another tool to fine tune what your data communicates.

Previously, layers in explore view were styled with Hub's default blue. With this enhancement, feature service editors can now choose between the default style or set the style of the layer from the item settings in ArcGIS Online.

Ready to try out this new option? Follow the steps below:

  1. From your dataset’s explore page, select the Manage content button to navigate to workspace.
Manage content button on dataset explore page.Manage content button on dataset explore page.

  2. From here, select Settings > General.
    Workspace general settings.Workspace general settings.

  3. You’ll now see a Map display settings section that allows you to toggle between the Hub default style and the Saved layer style.
    Map display settings.Map display settings.

  4. Want to go ahead and update the layer style? Select the link to Edit layer styles in ArcGIS Online. This takes you to the item’s Visualization page in a new tab where you can update and save the symbology.

  5. Now, back in the workspace (General pane), when you select Saved layer map style, select Save, and return to the layer’s explore view in Hub, you’ll see the updated style.

And there you are – users now see your data the way you intended, giving them the ability to better understand the data they're exploring.

We are underway with designing enhancements to layout editing.

We have a quick (and hopefully) fun survey that will help us with naming something.

Take the survey -

Thank you for helping! If you join the Hub User Lab, you can expect more research and feedback opportunities in the near future around layout editing. ⬇️

The 2025 Esri User Conference is right around the corner, and we are excited to connect with you. UC is filled with many presentations and events, with hundreds of topics covered. To help you get the most out of your experience, we’ve created a custom agenda for ArcGIS Hub. We hope these sessions will be enjoyable and informative as you continue your geospatial journey.

View our Hub custom agenda that you can add directly to your UC account.

We also have SIGs (Special Interest Groups) available for you to attend this year. Two great SIGs that you might find particularly interesting are the:

Geospatial Ecosystems SIG: Improving ROI for Modern SDI

Community Engagement SIG: Using Hubs for Deeper Collaboration

SIGs are a great way to hear from and network with like-minded professionals. This year advanced sign-ups for SIGs will be required, ensuring everyone who signs up will have a seat, and that there is ample room. It’s easy to reserve, just register for UC and add sessions to your schedule. You can also join a waitlist if your SIG is full, as seats will open as others update their plans. Reservations will be held until 5 minutes before the start time.  If you forget to sign up, or find yourself available at the last minute, any extra spots will be made available at the door on a first-come, first served basis.

The ArcGIS Hub kiosk will be in the ArcGIS Geospatial Platform area. If you would like a like a pdf of the Hub schedule to print and take with you, it is attached below.

We hope you have a wonderful UC experience this year!
